Research Topics

My main researches are based on an interdisciplinary perspective (development economics, new economic sociology, social network analysis) and deal with:

  • Urban labor markets and informal economy in sub-Saharan Africa (Burkina Faso, Senegal) and developing countries (Colombia)
  • Informal entrepreneurship and digital (ICT) uses in Africa (Senegal);
  • Structural and social changes in Africa: (i) “middle classes” in Africa (Ivory Coast); (ii) political economy of social protection (Madagascar);
  • Social Networks Analysis: mixed methods for the collection and statistical analysis of network data;
  • The social construction of markets: embeddedness and economic sociology of markets.
